TOWN CLERK REPORT – August 2008
- Paid one assessment last month.
- Had a Planning Commission/Council workshop on the new Zoning Ordinance.
Went very well. The Planning Commisssion meet after that to go over some
changes with the zoning. I sent the changes back to Ginnie at LCOG. Waiting
to hear back from her. After that we will probably have another worksession
with the commission and council. Then the Planning Commission will hold a
Public Hearing and then will go to council for the readings. - I put a notice in paper that we are accepting bids for maintaining the
lawn at the old Elem. School, and it is on the web page. Deadline is August
13, by closing time. - I have been working with the auditor. Renee should have a draft of the
audit at the September meeting. Things are going very well with the audit.
She is actually got to use Dawn’s laptop to find tickets from Lawtrak. Dawn
and myself helped her out with the ticket audit, which is going well. - Meet with Michele Knight from LCOG and Bonnie from the Commerce Dept. in
Columbia. We found out that right now we are not eligible to receive any
CDBG grant funds because of the LMI (low moderate income) is not 51% in the
Town of Cottageville. Michele will keep me inform of other grants that come
open. - I attended a Public Treasurer class in Columbia.
- The storage shed that we have in the firehouse has finally been
organized. Our records are in boxes with dates on them. This area access is
controlled and doors are keep locked for security.
